The Higher Education Cultural Roundtable is a consortium made upof Tulsa area collegesand universities founded upon the recommendation of the 1990 ComprehensiveCultural Plan of the City of Tulsa.

Working with the Tulsa City-County Library and the Arts and Humanities Councilof Tulsa, the Roundtable promotes intellectual, artistic, and social discourseon member campuses and in the larger community, engages in cooperativeprogramming, and shares resources and ideas.  TheRoundtable, which meets quarterly, publishes a semi-annual cooperativecalendar of cultural events of each of the members.

Each year the group presents a joint event and encourages allmember institutions to plan programs around a common theme. The 2001-2002 jointprogram was an Informance with Dave Brubeck.

In 2003, the Higher Education Cultural Roundtable initiated a new program tofund K-12 "mini-grants" for arts and humanities activities in the Tulsa area. The membership feels strongly that special cultural activities must continueto be a part of the students' curriculum, even in times of financial difficulty.Grants are awarded at a ceremony held during the spring of each year.
